Brice turned 7. His birthday celebration was spread out over a two week period. We started on the day of his birthday with his birthday dinner: Tacos with the missionaries. And he blew out a candle on a pan of his favorite Peanut Butter Bars. (Unfortunately the recipe I was given was not quite correct and they turned out a little weird...he didn't seem to mind).
He opened a couple presents that day including a bike with the pegs that someone can stand on?? That was his one request. And a sweater from Tutu which was just a little too big for Luke. When he saw it he insisted on wearing it (despite the hot weather).
Next came is birthday party with his friends. Thankfully we have a fun backyard so I don't usually have to do much entertaining. We decided to let the kids decorate their own cupcakes and that was a bit of a mess but they seemed to enjoy it. We had pizza and snowcones, too.
Dane got his "summer cut". He grows his hair out all year long and then cuts it short for summer. He wanted it done on a "significant" day so we chose the last day of school.
In Vegas there are lots of hotels and lots of pools. Many of them let locals in for free. Our favorite is The Rio because it has a great beach entry pool with sand. It is perfect for Luke. I get sit on a chair and read on my kindle. Win-Win!! Dane had just recently bought himself a kindle and was a little obsessed so he he enjoyed reading there too.
We made a trip to California to visit our families in June also. Mackenzie loves all things girly. She begs for make-up everyday and loves to have her nails painted by anyone who is willing. Thankyou aunt Lyndsee for making her so happy!
A trip to Cali isn't complete without a trip to the beach. We love it because both my family and my husband's will meet up together. We love all the extra time we get seeing both of them and loving the beach!!
The kids caught the biggest sandcrabs I have ever seen!!
This is Brice's birthday take 3. He really wanted Grandma Anne to make him a birthday cake so we celebrated again when we could make it to California. Here he is with his cool Ninja cake. He also got his favorite meal for dinner: Tuna Patties. He enjoys celebrating with his cousins too.
Luke and Sam cooincidently have the same outfit. We thought they were so cute matching.
One of our summer adventures included visiting Springs Preserve. The current highlight is the snake exhibit.
Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?! He's getting so big it breaks my heart!
Luke loves his "Paci". I try to not let him have it as much now because I don't want him to become obsessed like Mackenzie was. He's pretty good but he always wants "two pacies" one for his mouth, one in his hand. This time he stuck them both in his mouth.
The boys love to have sleepovers. We don't do it often but Dane has one best friend who is very well-behaved, polite and just kind to all the kids. They have been begging to sleep on the trampoline. It happened to be pefect weather...not too hot and not too cold. The surprisingly slept in until almost 9:00 despite the early rising summer sun. I couldn't believe it!!
