Real Sleep!
My aunt and uncle called last night to see if they could sleep at our house...their plane coming back from Israel had been delayed and they were worried that they were going to miss their connecting flight at midnight in Las Vegas. "Sure, no problem, just call me when you get here." And then I forgot.
Dane came into my room and just the sound of him walking woke me up. It was 5:00 this morning and he came to tell me that Mackenzie was crying. I must have turned the monitor down and didn't remember?? Even without the monitor I can usually still hear her crying. Normally her door is open but I closed it to make sure she got the full benefit of the humidifier (she's got cold, or maybe its teething??). When I jumped out of bed to feed her and realized what time it was I panicked! "Oh no, did Chauncey come and I didn't hear her either??"
I fell asleep last night just before 11:00. I don't remember waking up at all, not even partially just to roll over, the entire night. I think I got a SOLID 6 hours of sleep for the first time in probably a year!! Anyway, when I put Mackenzie back to sleep I checked the phone and saw there were two messages. I can't believe I didn't hear the phone ring either. I am not a sound sleeper, not since my first pregnancy...I normally can't sleep through anything! Thankfully, the message was to let me know their Las Vegas flight was also delayed so they made it in time.
I must have been exhausted! Ahhhh...sleep, sweet, sleep.
